COFCO International commits to Science-Based Climate Targets

COFCO International is accelerating its climate action efforts and plans to establish near-term emissions reductions in line with the applicable criteria of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), a partnership between the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

The SBTi standards align with the latest climate science and respond to the ambition of the Agriculture Sector Roadmap to 1.5°C and the goals of the Paris Agreement - to limit global warming to no more than 1.5°C above pre-industrial level.

COFCO International plans to submit its individual specific near-term reduction targets to SBTi for validation before July 2024.
